Has Minot State University's projected $4 million budget shortfall changed your thinking about MSU receiving city sales tax money for improvements to athletic facilities?

  1. No, still for it
  2. No, still against
  3. Yes, MSU's need is greater now
  4. Yes, I'm now opposed

dakkratt, Honestly I believe the answer is a simple. The university is too concerned about expanding to even consider the issues that will arise due to the flood. Why would they have too as they usually get what they want one way or another. They had a city vote regarding the money needed and the people said "NO"!!! Then the city approves millions of tax dollars a few days ago for the college while the Minot Public School System is still in limbo with it's buildings. We all know sports is a higher priority than the flooded out people of Minot.

MSU does have needs that need to be met and it will cost the tax payers, that is just how it is. The problem I have is the tax payer always is always expected to take from their own budgets to pay for the college needs. I sure hope the MSU president is compensated in some way to make up for his loss of using the Minot Country Club due to the flood.

Why not just open the tax payers checkbook for MSU. They will get what they want in the end anyway.
