Falling behind China?
A strange new argument is being made by President Barack Obama's administration in regard to climate change legislation. It is that unless drastic new rules are put in place here, the United States will fall behind other countries - including China.
Already, "The United States ... has fallen behind," Energy Secretary Steven Chu told members of Congress this past week.
Indeed, some countries - most in Europe - have implemented new industrial emissions laws that cost their residents dearly. But China? That mega-power has refused steadfastly to adopt climate change rules such as those proposed in the United States.
China already may be the world's top polluter. It has been reported that two new power plants go into service every week in that country - and the vast majority of them are fired by coal, with few emissions controls.
Pollution by countries such as China and India is one reason why many analysts believe global warming cannot be curbed by legislation in countries such as ours.
Obama has made it clear that pleasing leaders of other nations is a top priority for him. That's fine - as long as U.S. national security and Americans' economic interests are not damaged. But claiming that we must have climate change legislation to keep up with a country that refuses limits is simply being dishonest.

I've had it with this joker already, and it's only been 10 months. I really have to laugh how his health care reform has to be done immediately. The bill can't be passed fast enough, yet nothing will take effect until 4 years from now. He knows it will be a disaster so he doesn't want to ruin his chances for re-election. I don't think he'll have to worry about that. Eventually, some of the Kool-Aid drinkers should get over their sugar hang-over. Do some research, Obamabots.

Another lie from the annointed one. Who does he think he's talking to? He and his cronies in Congress keep pushing these "changes" that the majority of the country does not want. He is determined to bankrupt this nation, destroy capitalism, increase government power and control, and penalize the successful for his own vision of "economic justice". I'll say it again, Obama, with his own words, admits that cap-and-trade will be so expensive that it will bankrupt the coal industry. YouTube it. I still can't believe 52% of the Presidential electorate fell for this guy and his destructive agenda. He wants control of 17% of the economy (health care), he wants to bankrupt the traditional energy industries by literally making them pay for thin air, he spends money like there's no tomorrow, his administration is full of tax cheats, communist sympathizers and lunatics, and for a so-called expert on the Constitution, he sure loves to make up his own enumerated powers.
